In 2018, Morena Neo Mopeli made history by
becoming the youngest Chairperson of a Provincial House in South Africa. This
remarkable achievement is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills,
passion, and dedication to serving his community and the province at large,
including the rest of South Africa.

Rooted in Tradition

Born on 24 December 1990 in Thaba Bosiu
village, Qwaqwa, Morena Neo Mopeli is deeply rooted in his heritage. He is the
son of Mofumahadi Mantsane Mopeli and the late Morena Jobo Mopeli and grew up
in Qoqolosing village. His strong sense of tradition and community guides his
leadership approach.

Education and Achievements

Morena Neo Mopeli holds a Bachelor of
Commerce degree from the University of the Free State, where he was an active
member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. This prestigious
organisation recognises top-performing students, and his membership reflects
his academic excellence.

A Leader with a Heart

As a Senior Traditional Leader in the Thaba
Bosiu Traditional Council, Morena Neo Mopeli is committed to serving beyond his
community. He has participated in Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality Council
meetings, ensuring that the voice of his people is heard. His advocacy for
change and development is inspired by his desire to create a better future for
all.

Community Champion

Morena Neo Mopeli is the interim
Chairperson of the Metsimatsho Community Trust, which administers Metsimatsho
Lodge in Qwaqwa. He is also an Executive Committee member of SALGA Free State,
demonstrating his dedication to community development and growth.

A Lifelong Learner

Currently pursuing further studies at the
University of South Africa, Morena Neo Mopeli is passionate about strengthening
Traditional Leadership and developing rural areas beyond the boundaries of the
Free State Province. His commitment to education and self-improvement is a
shining example to his community.
