The portfolio committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs held a community meeting, 26 February 2025, at Paradise Hall, Bochabela in Bloemfontein.

The purpose of the meeting was to foster a sense participation, to address and evaluate on issues relating to service delivery, bulk infrastructure, housing challenges and governance within the Mangaung Metropolitan Local Municipality.

The Chairperson of the committee Dr Zweli Mkhize mentioned that it is the responsibility of the parliament to assess and provide an oversight on municipalities to make sure that they deliver the required services to the citizens. “The committee is here to allow you the opportunity to raise your concerns and challenges that you face within your communities and see how best we can resolve them and come up with solutions”.
